๐ Hidden Features
Spoiler: Secrets of the Land
- Underground: Mom is home to many criminal organizations. It also hosts the Dark Web, the largest secret marketplace for semi-legal goods. It is not illegal per se โ there are very few products that cannot be traded in Falano. However, specific exceptions exist, and those can be found on the Dark Web as well.
- Dark Secret: The district was planned and built by Larik Anahan Kahn โ a co-founder of the Kigal-Shu. Kahn deliberately designed the ring to form a massive ritual circle: the six largest cemetery grounds mark the exact vertices of a hexagram (deviation รธ 0.3%), and at the geometric center lies an underground chamber, noted in Kahnโs original plans as โFoundation. Reserved.โ Kahnโs architectural documentation uses what he called the Keystone Symbol (downward-pointing triangle, crossed out) for rooms of this kind โ a designation he never explained.
- The Chamber: A circular room, ~12 m in diameter, vaulted ceiling, no light. At its center stands a flat stone table holding seven sealed containers made of an unknown material. The walls bear texts in an early form of the Kigal-Shu-Chiffre. Beside them, a single handwritten sheet in modern standard script: โYou have found what has been waiting. The key is not here. It will come to you.โ โ The chamber had been undisturbed since 2774; the Ordnungswache entered it for the first time on 3051-04-22.
- Whereabouts of Josef Stadl-Heuriger: The cemetery keeper of Saint-Rousseau Cemetery, who had identified access to the chamber, left the courtroom on 3051-04-22 after giving his testimony and has not been reachable since. His last known location: the barred basement window โ which he found open the night before, despite having been sealed for at least 200 years.
- Unstable Elements: Due to the ritual circle structure, the boundary between the Material Plane and the Eternal Plane within the Mothers Ring is considered extraordinarily thin. There are many ghost sightings.
๐ Notes & Trivia
- The cemeteries within the Mothers Ring find little rest โ a relocation of all burial grounds is under discussion in order to reduce ghost encounters.
