Am 8. Oktober hat Falano seinen neuen katholischen Bischof bekommen. Und mit seiner Eminenz Ecclesius III. kommt nicht nur einer der strengsten Katholiken an die Macht den unser Bistum jemals hatte, sondern auch jemand der einen enorm großen Wert auf die alten Traditionen legt.
“Es muss der katholischen Kirche wirklich unheimlich gut gehen…” meint unser Religionsexperte Per Eundriche, während er zusieht wie die 50 Meter hohe Weißtanne von einem Kran aufgerichtet wird. Es handle sich um ein Exemplar aus dem Wienerwald im Zentrum von Europa.
Traditionell gab es nie einen offiziellen Baum für die Kathedrale, erst vor zehn Jahren wurde von Ecclesius II. eine Jugendstilmetallkonstruktion aus Messing in Auftrag geben, die diese Lücke füllen sollte. Seither wurde jedes Jahr eben jene Millionen Dukaten Baumalternative als Weihnachtsbaum vor der Kathedrale aufgeschmückt. “Gewaltige Kugeln aus purem Gold hat man beprägen lassen, lächerliche Summen hat man da hineingesteckt, weil das Konstrukt ja auch eine extrem große Masse tragen kann…” erklärt uns Eundriche. Eben jene massiven Kugeln werden heuer wohl nicht zum Einsatz kommen, denn ein echter Baum könne den Schmuck nicht tragen.
Aus dem Domquartier erhielten wir als Antwort auf unsere Bedenken, dass “Gold ja nicht schlecht werde” und “anders als ein Bischof ja auch keinen Verschleiß hat”.
Damit dürfte sich dieses Jahr das Bild unserer größten Kathedrale wohl massiv wandeln, denn ein echter Weihnachtsbaum hat in diesem Ausmaß Primäre. Es werden zig tausende Besucher erwartet und die Kathedrale rüstet sich mit mobilen Klingelbeuteln am Domplatz. Man könne Bargeld jeder Währung, Anleihen, Aktien und via Kartenzahlung auch Krypto ohne Probleme in jedweder Menge akzeptieren, heißt es aus dem Domquartier. Bei Kartenzahlung bete man nur um einen ernstgemeinten Beitrag, weil die Transaktionsgebühren ansonsten zu massiv zuschlagen würden.

On October 8th, Falano received its new Catholic Bishop. And with His Eminence Ecclesius III. comes not only one of the strictest Catholics our diocese has ever had, but also someone who places an enormous value on old traditions.
“The Catholic Church must be doing incredibly well…” commented our religion expert Per Eundriche, while watching a crane erect the 50-meter-tall silver fir. It is a specimen sourced from the Vienna Woods in the center of Europe.
Traditionally, there was never an official tree for the cathedral. It was only ten years ago that Ecclesius II. commissioned an Art Nouveau metal structure made of brass to fill this gap. Since then, that millions-of-ducats tree alternative has been decorated as a Christmas tree in front of the cathedral every year. “They had gigantic baubles made of pure gold, ridiculous sums were invested because the structure can also bear an extremely large mass…” Eundriche explained. These massive baubles will likely not be used this year, as a real tree could not support the ornaments.
In response to our concerns, the Cathedral Quarter told us that “gold doesn’t spoil” and that “unlike a bishop, it also doesn’t wear out.”
This year, the appearance of our largest cathedral is likely to change drastically, as a real Christmas tree of this magnitude takes priority. Tens of thousands of visitors are expected, and the cathedral is preparing with mobile collection bags in the cathedral square. They can accept cash in any currency, bonds, stocks, and crypto via card payment without any problems, in any amount, the Cathedral Quarter stated. For card payments, they only ask for a serious contribution because otherwise, the transaction fees would be too massive.
